This is a nice 3 hp Johnson outboard motor. This motor has plenty of power and fully planes out a 9ft inflatable. This is a 2 stroke 2 cylinder motor with great compression. We have fully boat tested this engine and it performs excellent. Very popular outboard engine since they are light, include a gas tank, easy to repair and find parts for, and very powerful. 2 cylinder outboards perform stronger and smoother than single cylinder motors. All 3hp outboards made today are single cylinder engines. This was one of the last production run 2 cylinder engines that are 3 and 4 hp. This engine, based on our tests, performs more like a 4-5hp outboard with plenty of power to move a wide variety of small boats.
