This is a
very strong running 20 hp Johnson 2-stroke outboard motor. This engine
has a short shaft 15" and has both electric and manual start. This
Johnson has strong compression and runs great. This 20 hp Johnson weighs
in at 118lbs which is the average weight of a 15 hp 4 stroke outboard.
We have fully boat tested this motor and it runs perfectly. This is the
same engine as the 25-35 hp outboards made by Johnson and Evinrude. The
difference in HP comes from the size of the throat in the carburetor,
intake manifold, and exhaust housing. For the most part it is just as
powerful as the 25-35hp OMC outboards base on our boat tests.
Why
these are great motors?
Because you are able
to have a motor that is capable of running a small inflatable or a large
pontoon boat. The diversity this motor brings are attributed to the fact
that there is an exceptional amount of power to weight ratio achieved.
For a 110 lbs outboard motor, you can do it all and not weigh your boat
down or break your back if you need to transport it. This would make a
perfect outboard for a Boston Whaler type skiff, Commercial Work Skiff,
Mullet Boat, John Boat, Sailboat, Bass Boat, Gheenoe, Portable Boat, Poontoon,
Flats Skiff, large inflatable, or any other small water craft. Please
