HISTORY:
William Gross (founder) has been involved in the Marine Industry since completing Outboard Repair Course at B.O.C.E.S. (Long Island, NY) in 1977.
He has worked in various retail marine, service and management
positions
in N.Y. and Maryland before opening Premier Marine, Inc. (Annapolis, MD)
In 1989.
The full service year-round operation in Maryland (1989-2002),
included
sales and service for Evinrude, Johnson, MerCruiser and Shorelander.
Specializing in outboard rebuilding and stern drive repowering.
In 1991, Premier Marine won a contract for sales and service
of outboards,
Zodiac/ Avon inflatables diesel repair and DuraJet engines at Quantico Marine
Base servicing the USMC. The MARCORSYSCOM contract was successfully awarded
to Premier Marine until 1998.
In 1993, Premier Marine won contracts with the FBI Hostage
Rescue team (HRT)
and Marine Corps Recreation and Morale Department (Quantico Marina).
In 2002, William Gross, sold the business and attended Yacht design training at the Landing School in Kennebunk, Maine.
While in school, he designed and built a FRP 14’ outboard
power fishing skiff
powered by an DuraJet outboard. In addition, designing a 33 foot two cabin
twin engine center console fishing cruiser (accommodations for 5).
Upon graduating the program, he moved to Edgewater, Florida
and secured
a position at Brunswick Commercial and Government Products building Boston
Whaler Boats for the U.S Government.
In 2004, Premier Marine, Inc began operation in Edgewater
Florida as an internet
seller of rebuilt/refurbished Evinrude, Johnson and DuraJet engines, new and
used engine parts.
The operation is now located minutes away from the Orlando
International Airport
In South East Orlando.
