This is a 200 hp Mercury Outboard Motor. This engine is a counter rotating (can be used as a single engine) 25" shaft v6 model. This outboard was completely torn down, serviced, and well maintained by a Mercury Outboard mechanic who owned the engine. He had it with a twin on a 28ft Mako that he hardly used. We sold the standard rotating motor. This 200 hp Mercury is a carbureted version with an oil injection system. The advantage to these outboards is that they are the simple 2-stroke non-direct injection models so repairs can be made easily by most mechanics. Parts are less expensive than more modern direct injection outboards. We have tested the compression on this outboard and the range was around 115PSI on all 6 cylinders. This would make a great outboard for a large fishing skiff.
